Dorka Keehn, Principal

Dorka is a cultural strategist recognized for shaping some of the most ambitious public artworks in the United States, including The Bay Lights, Leo Villareal’s landmark 25,000-LED installation on the San Francisco Bay Bridge. An award-winning public artist and longtime civic leader, she chaired the San Francisco Arts Commission’s Visual Arts Committee for more than a decade, overseeing all public art commissions citywide, including at SFO. She also served on the Civic Design Review Committee, which has final purview over the design of all City-owned architecture, streets, and public spaces.

Dorka co-founded Sites Unseen, a public-realm initiative that brings permanent and temporary artworks to underused alleys in San Francisco’s Yerba Buena neighborhood. Through partnerships with public agencies, private developers, community organizations, and cultural institutions, Sites Unseen activates neglected areas, fosters social interaction, supports community pride, and creates economic opportunities while increasing public access to the arts.

She currently serves on the boards of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, SPUR, the California Arts Council, and the California Creative Economy Working Group.
