What We Do
Public Art Strategy, Placemaking & Project Management
Public Art & Placemaking Strategy
We shape the creative and experiential framework for each development:
• Define project vision, values, and user experience
• Align art with architecture, landscape, and public-realm goals
• Identify meaningful, high-impact art sites
• Evaluate construction, utility, and code considerations
• Develop the Art Master Plan: vision, themes, sites, artwork types
• Create community engagement opportunities when appropriate
Civic Approvals & Agency Coordination
We manage all public-art approvals and civic processes to keep projects on schedule:
• Prepare and present materials required for public-art review bodies
• Coordinate with Planning and Building Departments on plan checks and inspections
• Manage review processes with oversight entities such as City Council, Arts Commission, and other governing bodies
• Ensure all compliance requirements and sequencing align with project timelines
Artist Research, Curatorial Direction & Selection
We bring deep curatorial expertise to identify the right artists for each project:
• Establish selection criteria aligned with project identity
• Craft a curatorial framework rooted in site and design
• Research and present local, national, and international artists
• Manage RFPs, proposals, interviews, and artist selection processes
• Oversee contracting, budgets, insurance, and schedules
Artwork Project Management
We oversee the full lifecycle of each commissioned artwork:
• Communication, reporting, and transparent budget management
• Coordination with architects, engineers, landscape, civil teams, and general contractors
• Technical oversight: structural, MEP, lighting, anchorage, ADA/11B
• Fabrication oversight, QA/QC, finish review, and inspection
• Installation planning: logistics, staging, safety, and sequencing
• Permit management and integration with construction schedules
• Opening activations, press coordination, and community engagement
• Long-term maintenance and conservation planning
Outcome
High-impact art that strengthens identity, elevates place, and delivers lasting value.
